David Thorpe (artist)

David Thorpe (born 1972, London, UK) is an artist based in London where he is represented by Maureen Paley.

Thorpe received his BA degree in 1994 from Humberside University[1] and his MA degree in 1998 from Goldsmiths, University of London[2].

He has shown work in many exhibitions including Die Young Stay Pretty at the ICA[3], London, at Schirn Kunsthalle[4] in Frankfurt, Monica de Cardenas[5] in Milan and Murray Guy[6] in New York. He participated in British Art Show 6[7] at various venues. He is represented by 303 Gallery [8] in New York, Taru Nasu Gallery [9] in Japan and Maureen Paley [10] in London.

A selection of works by the artist were used as album and single covers by the dream pop band Engineers.
